Default Viva Macau New Direct Flights Between Macau and Sapporo

Viva Macau announced its new winter peak season flights to Sapporo, Japan. As the capital of Hokkaido, Sapporo is one of most popular tourist attractions in Japan, famous for the best skiing in Asia, the annual snow festival and many other winter events as well as culinary delights.

Viva Macau Airlines will operate two flights per week, on every Tuesday and Saturday between Macau and Sapporo. The inaugural flight will commence on 19 December, leaving Macau at 2:15pm and arriving in Sapporo at 7:50pm. Return flight will depart Sapporo at 8:50pm and arrive in Macau at 2:05am.

To celebrate the new route, Viva Macau Airlines is offering special fares from only MOP4,800 for roundtrip travel on Economy Class and MOP9,800 for a roundtrip Business Class ticket.

"Sapporo is a wonderful winter holiday destination. Our Sapporo flights will serve the desire of travellers from Macau and the Pearl River Delta visiting Hokkaido's winter wonderland, and also give Hokkaido residents the opportunity to experience Asia's hottest destination, Macau," said Dr Reg Macdonald, Viva Macau CEO. "In addition, Hokkaido skiing is popular in our other markets including Australia (Sydney and Melbourne), Jakarta and Ho Chi Minh City. Our travel partners are expressing tremendous interest to promote this together. The excitement is certainly one of the reasons we chose Sapporo as a new addition to our expanding network during the winter season."

Packages are available through Viva Macau online travel partner, Macau.com, and other major travel agencies. With a range of hotels to choose from, a 4-day 3-night air and hotel package starts from only MOP5,888.

Viva Macau Airlines, with the motto "We Mean The World To Macau", are currently offering direct services from Macau to Tokyo, Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta, Sydney. The airline will start Macau to Melbourne flights from 9 December and Macau to Sapporo services from 19 December.

Seems like this Sapporo route is allready in danger. My GF was called by viva macau two days ago advising that her return flight from Macao on 5 December has been cancelled. It was the last of five flights we have booked together on Viva. Tried to call this weekend but the contact centre is closed on weekends (seems like they are being operated like a home office rather than an a professional international airline). With only two scheduled flights to Sapporo per week - this cancellation is going to cause all kinds of problems for us. Waiting to see how they resolve this issue. I'm concerned that Viva can simply cancel flights for "commerical reasons". Sure they 'might' give you money back, but then we need to book a full price one way ticket on another airline and/or hotels to get home. What seemed like a good 'fair' deal is might become a nightmare. Viva are gambling with passengers. Like to hear from anyone else who as a similar experience.
