AirAsia launched direct daily flights between Hong Kong and Bangkok on brand new Airbus 320 with 5000 free seats up for grabs.
Kathleen Tan, Regional Head of Commercial AirAsia, said: “The launch of our direct daily flights between Hong Kong and Bangkok will work hand-in-hand with our existing connections – especially our Hong Kong to Kuala Lumpur route – and will further strengthen our position as the leading low-fare airline in Asia with a wide network of destinations in ASEAN, China and Australia. Since the launch of our Kuala Lumpur- Hong Kong route, demand has been fantastic and in less than 3 months, our strong loads have led us to introduce our second frequency in August; stimulating new demand; and allowing us to tap new markets with our amazing low fares. We believe we will see a similar trend with the introduction of the new route from Bangkok and stimulate traffic both ways between the two vibrant cities.”
AirAsia has continued to buck industry trends with its rapid expansion plans and has grown its regional network considerably in the past months offering leading low-cost service to meet the increase demand from business and leisure travellers alike.
“We are excited to be pioneering the low cost model in Hong Kong, and to be extending our notoriously low fares to our guests throughout the region. Hong Kong is an exciting city and we are thrilled to finally be able to place Hong Kong on our Thailand hub network. The Hong Kong - Bangkok route will provide increased access to Thailand for the huge tourism market in Greater China, from where they will be able to easily connect to the many other exciting cities that AirAsia flies to. In addition, guests may now connect to our strong domestic network to Phuket, Chiang Mai, Krabi, etc and our strong international network to Indochina via the Bangkok hub and enjoy the beautiful sights and experience that Thailand has to offer.”
“Thailand and Hong Kong has a lot to offer for everyone and are a fantastic place to visit. Both cities are widely known for their unique culture, great shopping, vibrant night life and exciting food. Furthermore, Thailand’s numerous beaches and historical sites are well known for their unrivalled beauty which makes it a frequently visited holiday destination. We are excited to offer promotional free seats* for the new destination and believe such promotions would further attract new craving travellers and first timers to the two cities. We look forward to build new markets and believe this campaign will offer guests the chance to test out our services and simultaneously enjoy a good holiday,” concluded Kathleen.
Tassapon Bijleveld, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia Thailand commented “We are pleased to fill the existing gap of flights offering with our low fares and pave the way for future development. The new routes from Bangkok will bring AirAsia’s truly low fares to those planning a break in the beautiful city of Bangkok and exciting Hong Kong, making a vital contribution to the region’s economy and giving a real boost to the influx tourists. Passengers will now benefit from increased choice as well as our extensive route network and connectivity across Asia.”
