just wondering why bangkok airways has exclusive rights to fly bangkok to siem reap and bangkok to koh samui there airfares always seem to be expensive, a bit of competition would be good?

Samui airport is privately owned by Bangkok Airways. There is some talk about opening it up for other airlines.
Bangkok Airways also owns Siem Reap Airways and has a de facto monopoly on BKK-Siem Reap route.

I totally agree that some competition would be good.
