Hi Guys,

Apologies if you've been asked this a thousand times before, but I can't seem to find a thread on this specifically. I'm flying into BBK on Eva Airways on the 1st Sept 2007 at 15.00 and my connecting flight to Samui via Bangkok Airways departs BBK at 16.30 on the same day, leaving 1 hour and 30 mins. I appreciate that this is quite tight, should my flight from London be delayed!

My questions are thus;

Do you know which terminals at BBK Eva Airways flies into?
Do you know which terminals bangkok Airways flies out from at BBK?
Do you think 1 hour & 30 mins is enough time assuming my London flight is on time?
Do you know how long it takes approx to pass through passport control etc once I arrive in BBK from London?

Many thanks guys, I really appreciate it.

B.

1 hour and 30 minutes is very, very tight. If there is no line up at passport control and your bags arrive quickly you may make it, but it's a gamble.

There is only one terminal at the new airport. Both Eva Air and Bangkok Airways operate from the same terminal. The airport is quite big and it takes some time to walk from the arrival gate to passport control.

Bangkok Airways flies to Samui about every hour. I highly recommend getting a later flight.

I remember a really long hike to get my bags, then lines at the ATMs and the foreign exchange booths.  The time you have allowed is what the airlines allow for transit changes on the same airline.  In other words, when I flew into Narita, in Tokyo, on Northwest, then out to Singapore, the layover was 1 1/2 hours.  I had enough time to get off the plane, use the rest room, buy my favorite Japanese snack, and get on the next plane.  Domestic connections in the US on the same airline, usually require an hour minimum.

Remember, that arrival time is when your plane gets to the gate.  It can take fifteen minutes just to get off the plane, and you should be ready to board your next flight twenty minutes before it is scheduled to leave.  You have to get through passport control, walk to the baggage claim area, get your bag, go through customs, walk to Bangkok Air, check in and get your boarding pass, go through security, and walk to the gate.
