Cebu Pacific started flying its Cebu-Taipei service. The thrice weekly Cebu-Taipei service will operate every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, using CEB’s 150-seater Airbus A319 aircraft. The flight leaves Cebu at 7:50pm, arriving in Taipei at 10:10pm. The flight departs from Taipei at 10:55pm and arrives in Cebu at 1:15am the following day.
The Cebu-Taipei service is Cebu Pacific’s fifth direct international service offered from its Cebu operations hub. The airline also offers direct services to Hong Kong, Singapore, Pusan and Incheon, Korea and will fly to Bangkok, Thailand starting April 6, 2008.
Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific vice president for marketing and product said, “We are very happy to add more international routes to our Cebu hub operations. We hope that this new service will further contribute to the fast growing economy of Cebu as we bring in more business and leisure travelers to Cebu and Central Visayas.”
Cebu Pacific recently added its 4th aircraft to its Cebu hub and has announced additional flights to Cagayan de Oro and Davao starting in early 2008.
“We will continue to expand our operations to keep up with the fast growing demand for affordable air travel in the Visayas and Mindanao regions,” Iyog added.
Cebu Pacific is the only Philippine carrier offering the Cebu-Taipei route.
