I flew into Darwin last night from Singapore on TR 702. On arriving at my friend's house we both found that someone had been through our bags and items were missing. I've spent the morning trying to talk to someone at Tiger Airways about the theft, but apart from a postal address... which they promise to reply to in approximately 21 working days... I have not been able to report the crime. Any suggestions?

+65 653-84437 is Tiger Airways number in Singapore.

+65 6822 2310 is Tiger Airways fax number for after-flight service. I'd suggest that you fax them your report, this way you will have a confirmation that you made a claim within 7 days.

You could also try to find a number for local airport office of Tiger Airways at the airport where you arrived and call them to find out the best way to submit your claim.

Hope you can recover the cost of the stolen items. Good luck.

I phoned Tiger Airways in Singapore... got the usual menu system... in the end I was not able to talk to someone... they only gave their mail address and fax... so perhaps fax is the best way to contact them... but I not happy with the service... two bags were opened and items were stolen while in they were the responsibility of Tiger Airways and the best the can do is get back to me in 7 days if I send them a report by fax.

There have been huge problems in the US when security was telling people they weren't allowed to lock their bags.  I'm not sure the baggage handlers work for specific airlines.  How does that work, anyway?

Good luck with your claim.  Does the credit card you used offer automatic travel insurance?  You might try contacting them to see what you would have to do to file a claim.
