 Huh Huh
when returning to Denmark (with KLM) - we will be travelling with Air Asia from Phuket to Bangkok- from where our flight leaves.
Is 2 hours enough to change flights - how long do we have to walk,- and is it possible to check in the luggage for the hole trip  Undecided - it would be a disaster if we miss the plane - so
all advises/help/shortways will be very welcome.

thanks very much Wink

Have you verified that you are leaving from the same airport?  Some domestic flights now go into the old airport, Don Muang.

I thought it was just the gate I came in on, but it seems that all of the walks to and from the gates, especially to the major airlines, are long.

You will not be able to check your luggage through.  My experience was that it takes a long time for luggage to arrive.

You will have to check in and go through security again.

You should be at the gate well before the departure time, usually something like twenty minutes before, or the airline could refuse to board you.

You are really counting on the Air Asia flight being on time.  If you are traveling now, during the rainy season, you may have weather to contend with.

And finally, most connecting international flights, on the same airline even, allow two hours between flights.  You might be fine, but if you haven't booked the tickets yet, try to give yourself more time.

Generally, I think that if you are planning to use a flights that aren't official connections, you should plan to arrive at the departure city at least one day before hand, because you have no protection whatsoever if anything goes wrong.

Cheesy thanks very much, I just think we´ll change flights with Air Asia, we don´t want to miss our long distance flight to Denmark - so we better be in Bangkok 1 or 2 days before our departure.

thanks again  Cheesy

It took me an hour from touching down to get off plane, clear immigration ,get bags, get out of arrivals and back up to departure desk at HKG. Made it with seconds to spare.  Grin
