Can anyone please tell me if the AirAsia flights are punctual?

I have heard that the low-cost airlines get low-landing priority on the airports and generally get much late, sometimes up to 1 hour or maybe more. How is AirAsia's performance?

I have flown with Air Asia quite a few times and generally they are reliable, a few flights have been 30 to 45 minutes late but no more! The problem is that as a low cost airline they only schedule very short times for flight turn around, and as the day progresses each few minutes of delay mount up. A good rule of thumb is that the later in the day the flight is, the more the delay is likely to be.... If you get a flight early in the day (or early in a sequence of flights) then it usually bang on time.

As for flight cancellations due to unforeseen problems, you take that chance with any airline even the high cost carriers, it can happen to the best of them. If you are really worried then you should make a through booking with the airline that you are using to get to Bangkok or one that has an arrangement with them. This way you should be able to check your bags all the way through and the airline will take responsibility for any cancellations or delays effecting your connections. Only problem would be the cost! I bet it would be much more than AirAsia!!!!!

Its a case of you paying your money and taking your chances with all low cast airlines! That said I would stick to Air Asia....
