hi hope someone can help me, we are coming to thailand on 19th october with thai airways from dubai to bangkok & then onto phuket, we have done this trip loads of times & the thai airways flight arrives at 8am & the connecting flight was always at about 9am, we last done this in march of this year but now I have just called thai to book our flights for october & they told me that the connecting flight does not now go till around 2pm & another even later  Sad
because we dont want to hang around for so long at bangkok airport I am thinking to take air asia flight instead as there is one that leaves at 10.50 am however I havent booked it yet as I am a little concerned about the 2 diff airports & if 2.5 hrs a be enough time to collect bags from thai exit the airport then re check in for air asia. I was not aware there was 2 airports but I think they may be some distance apart???
Pls help someone as I wanna book all this, basically will the air asia flight depart from the same terminal/airport as my thai air flight from dubai will land in Huh?

AirAsia operates from the same airport, Suvarnabhumi, where your Thai flight will arrive,

You will need to clear immigration, collect your bags and then check in with AirAsia.
2.5 hours should be enough time to do this. There is only one (BIG) terminal at Suvarnabhumi airport.

Thai Airways now operates domestic flights from both airports.

Some flights to Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket and Krabi are still operated from Suvarnabhumi, some flights to these destinations and flights to all other domestic destinations were moved to Don Muang.

For example flights from Bangkok to Phuket:
From Don Muang: 10:30, 12:35, 19:30
All other 8 daily flights to Phuket are departing from Suvarnabhumi.

They still do connecting flights, it's just that the one most convenient for you was moved to Don Muang.
