I will arrive at Suvarnabhumi airport by a Jet Airways flight from Kolkata and connect a Jetstar flight to Melbourne. Can anybody tell me that, I need any visa to collect my baggage from baggage claim point and if don't need any visa for that then also tell me that which way I can cross the passport control (Immigration) point to proceed to the baggage claim area or contact the Jetstar Airways Staff to do this on behalf of me.

You probably don't need a visa (citizens from most countries get transit visa exemption stamp), but you will need to go through passport control before you can pick up your baggage. Jetstar will not do it on your behalf. Just follow the signs to immigration and baggage claim.

Indan Citizens need to get a transit visa. You can get a visa at an embassy or consulate before you travel or get a visa on arrival.

Visa can be obtained on arrival (ONLY at Bangkok, Chiang Mai,
Chiang Rai, Hat Yai, Phuket, Samui Int'l, Sukhothai, Surat
Thani, Utapao airports) for a stay of max. 15 days, provided:
- coming for touristic purposes; AND
- passport is valid at least 6 months; AND
- holding onward/return ticket; AND
- holding USD 250.- per person or USD 500.- per family.

If I only carry a handbag and no other check in baggages then also need a visa to proceed to the next flight or contact the transfer desk.

I think it depends of the airline. Full service airlines, like Jet Airways in your case, provide transfer check-in facilities. Budget airlines, in most cases, do not. I suggest that you check with the airline.

JetStar is a point-to-point airline. I don't think that Jet Airways will transfer your baggage to JetStar.

Call Jet Airways to confirm.
