Jazeera Airways announced the delivery of a brand new Airbus A320 – bringing the low-fare airline’s fleet size to six A320 aircraft. The delivery follows the airline’s rapid growth over the last two years, including the development of the airline’s second hub in Dubai, and the launch of 25 non-stop routes in its first two-years of operations.

The aircraft is one of the new generation of Airbus A320s, modeled on the improved interior of the brand new super jumbo – the Airbus A380, and incorporates wider overhead storage, a wider cabin feel and improvements in the cabin’s design - making the aircraft even quieter for travelers.
The aircraft is the sixth of a firm order with Airbus for 40 brand new A320s placed at the 2007 Le Bourget Paris Air Show. On delivery of all 40 aircraft in 2014, Jazeera Airways will be the largest Airbus A320 operator in the Middle East.

Jazeera Airways’ Chairman and CEO Marwan Boodai said, “We are committed to building a fleet of brand new Airbus A320s, which are well designed to keep operating costs low. This coupled with the standardization across Jazeera Airways’ operations, enables us to increase our efficiency and continue to offer every-day low fares to our customers.”

The new A320, as with the rest of the Jazeera Airways fleet, are fitted with Jazeera Airways’ signature leather seating.

The airline recently doubled its capital to KD 20 million through a rights issue to existing shareholders, following two years of phenomenal growth. The capital increase will fund the airline’s planned expansion, aimed at growing operations and entering new markets across the Middle East, North Africa, and the Indian subcontinent.
