JetBlue Airways started a major expansion at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport with new service to four top destinations in California and Florida. Customer-favorite JetBlue now offers daily nonstop service between Austin and Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, San Francisco, plus the only nonstop service to Los Angeles's convenient easy-in easy-out Long Beach Airport. Together with its existing service to Boston and New York/JFK, JetBlue now offers Austinites eight low-fare departures each day.
The introduction of JetBlue service between Austin and California also marks the debut of the airline's EMBRAER 190 aircraft on the West Coast. The full-size E190, a quiet 100-seat jet, offers travelers all of JetBlue's signature amenities: 36 channels of free live DIRECTV(r) programming, more than 100 channels of XM Satellite Radio(r), plus comfy leather seats (either an aisle or window, with no middle seat!), lots of legroom, plus JetBlue's acclaimed customer service.
In addition to its four new destinations, JetBlue today begins operating larger aircraft with 50% more seats on its daily run between Austin and Boston. With the move to an Airbus A320 on the route, JetBlue will offer 50 more seats per flight between the two tech centers.
