I am looking to book a flight from delhi to Bangalore in April and am hoping for any shared experience with certain budget airlines. I've heard that some should be avoided but others are not so bad. SpiceJet?

Thanks

Other options include GoAir, Indigo and Air Sahara (not technically a budget carrier, but often has competitive deals). Spicejet is good, Air Deccan a little more hit and miss.

KIngfisher's a budget airline? Didn't know that.
I've used GoAir, SpiceJet & Air Deccan. Found the first two to be fine. Plagued by the same sort of problems as all other airlines in India - airport congestion etc., but otherwise reliable. Air Deccan is staffed by totally ignorant & unhelpful people. And they take this budget thing to absurd limits. Not impressed at all.

I would take any of jet airways, kingfisher, indian or sahara. None of these are low cost but one does get cheap fares if booked well in advance. i would never take spicejet. indigo, deccan are low cost ones and of these i found indigo better to fly on.
