I just read the announcement from Skybus that it will fly to Vancouver AND Seattle through Bellingham, Wash. I'm wondering how far is the Bellingham airport from both Vancouver and Seattle. I guess if I'm going to Vancouver I'll have to cross the border to Canada over land. What's the best way to get there (rent a car, bus)?

1.5 - 2 Hour drive from Bellingham to Seattle depending on traffic. Drive into Vancouver can be just as bad depending on the border crossing.

I like their concept but not sure I get their routes. People in Columbus will fly to Bellingham for $10 and maybe $50 but that will get old after a while. I really doubt people in Seattle will go for it.

If this trend continues they should get some public airport express bus from Bellingham to Seattle and Vancouver.

How smooth are the boder crossings these days?  The airport shuttles and express buses usually want to be sure they will arrive with time to spare.

Hi,
As my information, bellingham airport is only 15 minutes from the border so however long it takes you to get to the border needs to be factored in - from where i live its about 15 minutes to the border. The best way to go, Take the train (Amtrack) but it's long but very enjoyable. Other than that, the bus or have someone drop you off.
