GoAir

GoAir is a domestic low cost airline based in India. It was established in 2005 with the goal of making domestic flight prices comparable to train fares. GoAir is based in Mumbai with Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is its main hub.

The GoAir network includes business and leisure destinations across the Indian subcontinent. As of November 2011, it serves 21 cities with up to 156 flights per day.

GoAir launches Bangalore – Goa flights

Indian low-cost airline GoAir has launched direct flights from Bangalore to Goa. The airline will offer a daily round-trip flight on this new route.

The outbound flight G8 245 will depart Bangalore at 06:25, arriving in Goa at 07:30. The return flight G8 246 will depart Goa at 20:20, arriving in Bangalore at 21:30. The flight duration is slightly over 1 hour.

In a statement, GoAir CEO Giorgio De Roni said: “With the new service, our total flights to/from Bangalore will increase to 84 per week, linking Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Goa. The timings are scheduled so as to provide connecting flights to Chandigarh, Jammu, Jaipur, Patna and Srinagar from the nearest respective destinations.”

GoAir to launch new flights to Ranchi, Kolkata

From February 5, 2012, Indian budget airline will GoAir will introduce two additional flights from Delhi to Kolkata and Ranchi. Also, the airline will increase its frequencies to and from northwest India, an airline spokesperson has said.

“Delhi is now connected to Kolkata and Ranchi by double daily service which facilitates day return trips for business travellers,” he said in statement.

The new flight (G8 719) will leave Delhi at 6:20 AM and reach Ranchi at 7.55 AM and the return flight (G8 720) leave Ranchi at 8.25 AM and reach Delhi at 10 AM.

The flight for Kolkata (G8 715) will leave Delhi at 5 PM and reach there at 7.10 PM and on the return trip, flight (G8-716) would take off at 7.45 PM and reach the national capital at 10.10 PM.

GoAir touches 21 destinations with 90 daily flights, the spokesperson said adding that the company, which has a fleet of 11 aircraft, would induct three new Airbus A320 this year.

GoAir increases flights from Mumbai

GoAir, the Indian budget airline, is adding seven daily flights from Mumbai to Ahmedabad, Ranchi, Patna and Bangalore  to cater to the additional traffic in these sectors.  These added flights will begin from December 21, 2011.

With these additions , GoAir’s total number of daily flights will reach 82 and weekly flights will increase to 580. The low-cost airline has also introduced value-added services like web check-in, a  fog helpline and SMS service to check flights status.

GoAir currently serves 21 cities in India and operates a fleet of 11 aircrafts, with two new Airbus A320s  being added in January and April 2012.

GoAir launches its own loyalty program

Indian budget airline GoAir has announced its own loyalty program called Go Club exclusively for customers who book flights online. GoAir is the first low cost carrier to launch such an initiative to encourage direct online bookings.

Membership to Go Club is free for customers who book GoAir tickets through their website and becoming a member is as simple as filling out an online form with your name, email address, and mobile number. To reduce administrative costs, the loyalty program is entirely electronic. Members can begin accumulating reward points as soon as they join and each point is worth one Indian Rupee.

Reward points can be redeemed for access to the GoAir airport lounges, voucher codes for GoAir flights, and upgrades to GoAir business class with extra leg room, baggage allowance, and in-flight meals. Go Club will also form partnerships with local restaurants, hotels, and other businesses.
